Position: Controller
Overview:
ACP Staff Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all financial and accounting activities. The Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and developing strategies to optimize financial performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and report on budget variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Cash Management and Treasury:
- Manage cash flow, including monitoring cash balances and forecasting future cash needs.
- Optimize the company’s capital structure and manage banking relationships.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely collections and payments.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Recruit and onboard new team members as needed.
- Strategic Planning and Decision Support:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Participate in the development and implementation of business strategies and initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior management to drive financial performance and achieve company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (or IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.

- Familiarity with Quickbooks or tools relevant to the role.
