Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician (Janitor/Handyman)
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our buildings and facilities. The ideal candidate will handle routine janitorial tasks, perform minor repairs, and address facility issues as they arise to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning & Maintenance:
- Clean and sanitize common areas, restrooms, break rooms, and workspaces daily.
- Dust and clean warehouse surfaces and equipment as needed.
- Take out trash and recycling daily, ensuring bins are emptied and disposed of properly.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas as required.
- General Repairs & Maintenance::
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair minor building issues, including doors, fixtures, basic plumbing, and furniture.
- Perform light repairs on equipment, tools, and facility items to maintain functionality.
- Handle day-to-day repairs and upkeep of the building that don’t require specialized services (e.g. fixing broken door handles, minor leaks, small electrical issues like light bulb replacements).
- Report any major repairs or facility needs to management for further action.
- General Upkeep::
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory, restocking as needed.
- Ensure all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed each evening.
- Assist with additional maintenance or cleaning requests as needed by the management team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous janitorial or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of repair techniques and handyman skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
